Set Up TikFinity Minecraft From Scratch

You need Minecraft: Java Edition (not Bedrock). If you don't own it yet, grab it from the official site:

Open the Minecraft launcher and note your game version (e.g. 1.21) and your username. You'll need both later.

Download and install Amazon Corretto 25 (free). This is the Java runtime your server needs.

Just click Next through the installer and accept all the defaults.

Create a new empty folder anywhere on your PC (e.g. Desktop). Name it whatever you like: TikTok LIVE Minecraft Server works.

Inside this folder, create two files:

eula=true

PaperMC is your Minecraft server. Match the version to your Minecraft game version.

Download PaperMC

1. Select your Minecraft version (e.g. 1.21) on the left
2. Download the most recent build
3. Save it into your server folder and rename it to paper.jar

⚠️ The filename must be exactly paper.jar or your run.bat won't find it.

Create a folder called plugins inside your server folder. Download these plugins and put the .jar files inside it:

Your folder should now look like: eula.txt · run.bat · paper.jar · plugins/ (with your .jar files inside)

Double-click run.bat. A black console window will open. Wait until you see Timings Reset. That means the server is ready.

First time only: type this into the console and press Enter:

op YourMinecraftUsername

This gives you operator permissions so you can use commands in-game. Replace YourMinecraftUsername with your actual Minecraft username.

1. Open Minecraft Java
2. Click Multiplayer
3. Click Direct Connection
4. Type 127.0.0.1
5. Click Join Server

You should now be in a fresh Minecraft world. Use /gamemode creative to switch to creative mode if you want to set up your arena.

To reset your world later, just delete the world, world_nether, and world_the_end folders, then restart the server.

Open TikFinity (geni.us/tikfinity) and go to the Setup page.

1. Click TikTok Login on the left and log in with your TikTok username
2. Scroll to Minecraft Connection
3. Type your Minecraft username
4. Click Test Connection (you should see "Connection successfully established")

Your server must be running (run.bat open) for the connection test to work.

This is the fun part. Go to the Actions & Events page in TikFinity.

Spawn Creeper:
execute at PlayerName run summon creeper ~5 ~5 ~

Spawn Ender Dragon:
execute at PlayerName run summon ender_dragon ~ ~10 ~

Give Diamond:
execute at PlayerName run give PlayerName diamond 1

Kill the Player:
execute at PlayerName run kill PlayerName

Teleport 100 Blocks Up:
execute at PlayerName run tp PlayerName ~ ~100 ~

TNT Rain (needs Delayed TNT plugin):
/tnt 5 1 3

Back in TikFinity, copy the Screen 1 URL from the bottom of the page.

Test your commands by clicking the ▶ play icon next to any action in TikFinity, or use the Event Simulator to simulate a gift.

If everything works, go live and watch the chaos unfold. 🎮
